It is my privilege to be secretary of this institution for about three decades. We started this venture as a group of dedicated visionaries and workers for providing education in the field of Para Medical lacking behind in the Medical field and to provide health services through our OPD with a motive to serve the society at large those do not have enough resources to pay prevailing fees of the other parallel institution and providing of health care facilities at a very nominal charges and even free of charge. We got continuous overwhelming support of our well wishers in every need of an hour.
In the year 1994 there were no facilities for the water, electricity and other amenities in this area and was not taken up by the authorities, as the population strength was low. Most of the people were surprised in the area and beyond their thinking for such a Para medical educational institution and was beyond their expectation. We got the continuous support and slowly and steadily we reached the heights and is known by its name as Para Medical or Eye hospital in this entire area. There was no post office and we had to go to Mehrauli Post office for every postage. The transport system was least. But now a new post office was inaugurated as 110074 and few Bus services were started as Chatterpur station.
The institute got well connected with a walk able distance from Chatterpur and Qutub Minar Metro station and upcoming Chatterpur temple metro station to be started very soon.
Also, in the year 2022 we took the initiative to start School of Nursing. We succeeded in this venture and got approval from the Govt. of NCT of Delhi and Delhi Nursing Council for General Nursing and Midwifery and also for Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery from the very 2022-2023 session. We are thankful for the kind permission given by DNC for a good cause and achieving our goal for educating the population for servicing the mankind.
During the entire journey we had educated approx. more than 6000 students in Para medical field and are happy to put on record that in most of the hospital in Delhi, NCR and the entire Northern and Southern India including Jammu and Kashmir our students got employment and are working with the same ideology as that of our institution. At the same time we appreciate the trust build up among our students that they are now sending their children for getting education in their own institution for which they are our part. We got few students from various charity homes and were supported by them for their education. We feel proud that they are doing well and are now supporting other students in getting their education.
In the year 2022 we started School of Nursing duly approved by Delhi Nursing Council and Govt. of NCT of Delhi for General Nursing and Midwifery and ANM for Girls only. We are third batch running and all the seats are full. There is a long list of our achievements during our journey. In brief we feel proud to be part of this institution. God bless our students those became our family members today.
Institute of Para Medical Technology (IPMT) is one of the most reputed and highly successful but not for profit training institute offering full time courses in paramedical and allied health sciences in India. It was established in 1994 in an area which was lacking behind in education and also community health services for a common man. Since then IPMT has done a yeoman service not only in producing the much in demand trained paramedical workers but also helped a large number of youths stand on their feet by way of alternative education opportunities, jobs and self-employment.
The institute is an ISO 9001: 2015 certified for its quality education. and offers government recognized diploma courses in more than 10 disciplines including Medical Laboratory Technology, X-ray Technology, Operation Theatre Technology, Ophthalmology Assistant (Optometrist), Dental Assistant, Physiotherapy Assistant, Medical Assistant, Nursing & Midwifery Assistants and Multipurpose Health Worker.
Keeping in view the aspirations of its students for their higher and continued studies for their career progression, IPMT has also entered into collaboration with most reputed universities to extend their degree Bachelor's and Master's programmes to its students for higher studies.
IPMT training programs are highly intensive and practical oriented. For this purpose, the institute has latest equipments, tools and other machinery. It has highly advanced laboratories in order to expose students to real life work and offer them industry ready skills.
IPMT has also joined hands with SS Polyclinics, a medical facility. Under this arrangement, the faculty members mentor students in actual patient/clinical settings.
IPMT, headquartered in national capital Delhi, has also branches in the states of Punjab and Maharashtra where its diploma course programs are administered. The government of Nagaland and Jammu & Kashmir recognizes IPMT courses and as a result of which each year number residential students from these states also study here. IPMT provides FREE education to the poor students sponsored from these state governments.
We hope to continue with our pivotal role of serving the youth and empower them to lead better lives, which in turn would serve healthcare of communities all over the country.
